Becoming a musician is a difficult and intensive task that requires focus, openness, and rigor. It is also one of the most rewarding pursuits anyone can undertake and one that has profoundly shaped my life.

My philosophy of teaching music is rooted in years of experience of performing, writing, and studying music with a variety of experts within and without institutions. My approach is highly customized to the individual's needs and his or her specific goals. Students will learn discipline, creativity, and a variety of techniques for learning that can be extended to any endeavor. Regular practice is expected and students who are not prepared to invest in their improvement in this way may not be invited to continue over the long term.

My fees start at $40 per half-hour lesson and $75 per hour. Interested students should contact me using the web form on this site or by other means.
